Trans Pride Walk - 2026
The trust participated in Trans Pride Walk in collaboration with An NGO called Maatrukaari involved in health and welfare of trans persons. The trust gifted Rupees 1000 for 23 trans achiever men as a token of appreciation.
Hon. Minister for Social Welfare participated in the Function and was joined by our Managing Trustee Dr C K Gariyali. The function took place at Besant Nagar Beach on the morning of 13th June 2026.
Vitasta Welfare Fund - Book & Scholarship Distribution - Jammu
Vitasta Welfare Fund distributed books and scholarships to displaced migrant students at the Jagti Kashmiri Migrant Refugee Camp, Jammu. The programme was graced by Mr. Karwani, Relief Commissioner, as the Chief Guest on 22nd March 2026.
Vasant Utsav - festival of dance 2026
The Vasant Utsav 2026 was inaugurated on 1st May by Justice C. Nagappan Former judge of Supreme Court of India and Shri R Prabjakaran International Lawyer. Following dance girus and scholars were honored. Inaugural performance was given by Guru Kalaimamani Roja Kannan and her disciples. Thereafter, each day two performances were showcased totaling to 19 enthralling performances.
Ashwarya Livelihood Revolving Fund
Ashwarya Livelihood Revolving Fund was created on 25th August 2022 on the birthday of Shri PN Vasudevan the Managing Director of the EQUITAS Bank. It was to help the most marginalized, non-bankable, transgender, widows and single women from the pavement dweller segment to start a micro-enterprise to eke out a living. The small loan of ten thousand was given interest free with a backend subsidy of 30%. If an individual repaid 70% loan, the remaining 30% was waived to encourage them. This gave them business exposure as well as created a credit history for them, which made them eligible to get the regular micro-finance bank loans. So far 168 persons have obtained the loans totaling to 16.8 lakhs and have been repaying without any one defaulting. Out of these 45 have been able to get a bigger loan from Equitas bank and have expanded their businesses.
Ashwarya Loan disbursement Year 2026-2027
The first batch of loans was given on 5th May 2026 to five women at a total cost of Rs.50,000 at EQUITAS Bank office. The Loan was disbursed by Mr. Tharik Ramana Business Head.
The Second Batch of Loan was given on 9th June 2026 to Five widows and single mothers to set up flower shop, fdruit vending and food stall business at the total cost of Rs.50,000. The loan was disbursed by Mt Murali Vaidyanathan the President of EQUITAS Bank and Rotarian Michelle Antony, President of the Rotary Club of Chennai Classic, in presence of our Managing Trustee Dr. C K Gariyali
