Clarke School Kelambakkam

The Clarke School for the Deaf is one of our country’s finest schools dedicated toward the education and the betterment of the lives of the differently able. This school was founded in 1970 by Dr. P. Leelavathy, along with late Dr. S. K. Nagarajan in Chennai.

The Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust worked closely with the Rural Extension Project of the Clarke School for the Deaf in Kelambakkam, 34 kms away from Chennai City, in Kanchipuram District. It supported the rural institution by providing educational material, basic necessities, library facilities, special food on festive occasions and classroom infrastructure for over a decade. Unfortunately, the rural project is now closed due to non-extension of lease.
