Birds Nest 365 - Education of the Children and youth born on pavements of Chennai
The Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust proudly collaborate with the Equitas Development Initiative Trust and Australia’s foremost Aid agency Global Development Group an Australian NGO approved by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foxglove founded by Ms Kelly Chisholm is an Australian-based fundraising charity registered with the Australian Government, in conducting the Birds nest 365 project in India. The project aimed to educate the children of the rehabilitated homeless pavement dwellers in simple housing to provide them the stability and a permanent address, social security and regular livelihood. The partnership continued for many years. Right now collaborative Project has come to an end. However, the work of educating the students and youth from pavement dweller category is being carried out with the help of Indian Donors.
So far nearly 3000 students have benefited from these scholarships and nearly 200 have reached the institutions of higher learning.
