Swagatam – Heritage Museum of Indian Hospitality
India is a county whose values have been steeped in hospitality since time immemorial.
In fact, even the Vedas, the oldest spiritual scriptures of the ancient Indian state:

There has been great tradition of receiving and taking care of guests in Indian culture and the Saraswthi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust has put together a museum to preserve the hospitality heritage of India. The artifacts on display at the museum range from all over India and provide a view into India’s glorious past.
The artifacts in the museum are from the personal collection of Smt. Indira Garyali , founder of Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust and her daughter Dr C. K. Gariyali IAS.
The small museum is located in the Madras Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology building in Karrapakkam, Poonamale, Chennai and is dedicated to the loving memory of Smt. Indira Garyali who was a great example of Indian hospitality and who worked for the preservation of Indian culture and heritage.
