The Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust is proud to collaborate with Australia\u2019s foremost Aid agency Foxglove and Global Development Group in conducting the Birds nest 365 project in India. The project aims to rehabilitate homeless pavement dwellers in simple housing and providing them the stability so that the families can have a permanent address, social security, education for the children and a regular livelihood.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Foxglove founded by Ms Kelly Chisholm is an Australian-based fundraising charity registered with the Australian Government (ACNC) and working with Global Development Group (GDG) to provide funds for overseas development work.<\/p>

The Global Development Group, established in 2002, is a Brisbane-based, Australian-founded non-government overseas humanitarian development organisation. Our passion is to provide comprehensive quality management to help achieve development effectiveness, together with our partners, in our aid and development projects and activities around the world.<\/p>

Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust is a partner for Project J925N Birds Nest 365 with Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993), an Australian NGO approved by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.<\/p>

The Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust has collaborated with The Equitas Development Initiative Trust for the project.<\/strong><\/p>

Equitas Development Initiatives Trust (EDIT)<\/strong>\u00a0is a public Charitable Trust formed for the purpose of promoting education amongst poor children and also seek to play a positive role in the lives of ultra poor such as pavement dwellers and beggars. Equitas Group is committed to contribute 5% of its annual profits to this Trust. The Trust was launched on 25th February 2008 in Raj Bhavan, Chennai in the august presence of His Excellency, the Governor of Tamilnadu, Shri Surjeet Singh Barnala. . The Trust has two main focus areas: Education for the poor children and Community Development comprising development in literacy levels, economic levels and health care.<\/p>

This multi-pronged approach from Equitas is expected to lead to a wholesome impact on our members\u2019 lives.For the target group members, the most obvious benefit is that micro-finance programmes would actually succeed in enabling them to increase their income levels. Furthermore, the poor are able to access financial services which previously were exclusively available to the upper and middle income population. Finally, the access to credit and the opportunity to begin or to expand a micro-enterprise may be empowering to the poor, especially in comparison to other development initiatives which often treat these specific target group members as recipients. Dr. C. K Gariyali IAS , our Trust Adviser, serves as Trustee of the Equitas Development Initiative Trust .<\/p>

This is the first international collaboration for the Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable Trust for charitable social activities.<\/strong><\/p>
