Sri. Ravi Garyali:

Sri. Ravi Garyali is the youngest son of the Late Sri. Kashi Nath and Late Shrimati Indira Garyali. Coming from a background in Agriculture and banking, Sri Ravi Garyali is an entrepreneur and the Managing Director of Irrigation Products International Pvt Ltd, based in Chennai India. Being a social worker and philanthropist at heart, Sri. Ravi Garyali has worked extensively with orphans and hearing challenged children and elderly, carrying on his mother’s charitable work. He has served as the Managing Trustee of the Saraswathi Educational Cultural and Charitable trust.

Smt. Priyadarshini Rajkumar

Smt. Priyadarshini Rajkumar is the granddaughter of the Late Sri Kashi Nath Garyali and Shrimati Indira Garyali, the founders of the Trust. She is trained in Bharatanrithyam under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subramanyam. She has completed MBA in Finance from University of Newcastle and has worked in the financial services in Australia and India. She is an ardent Social worker. As a social activist she is greatly involved in promoting the cause of Transgender community. An axcellent dancer herself, she personally oversees the organistion of the Vasnth Utsav Dance Festival in Chennai and the Navvarsha Mahotsava danc3e festival in Bangalore. She has been spearheading the cause of Educating the homeless children very passionately and been raising funds for the cause.

Priyadarshini Rajkumar is also a well-known actor of Tamil Cinema. We are proud to have her as the Secretary of the Trust. She manages its administration as well as all its activities.


 

President Vasant Utsav

Dr. R Nagaswamy

Padama Bhushan Dr. Ramachandran Nagaswamy born in 1930 to Sanskrit Pundit Ramachandran Sastrigal. He is an Indian historian, archaeologist and epigraphist, known for his work on temple inscriptions and art history of Tamil Nadu. He has served as the founder-Director of the Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department. He was instrumental in starting the Chidambaram Natyanjali festival along with Dr C K Gariyali. He is a postgraduate in Sanskrit from the University of Madras. Nagaswamy obtained his PhD in arts and archaeology from the University of Poona. He underwent archaeological training under the Archaeological Survey of India and in 1959, joined the Government Museum, Chennai as curator for art and archaeology where he served till 1963. He was initially appointed Assistant Special Officer for Archaeology for Tamil Nadu, later he headed the newly formed Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department. He has written more than fifty books on archeology.
He was awarded the "Kalaimamani" award by the Government of Tamil Nadu for his path breaking work on Sekkilar's Periyapuranam. He also appeared as an Expert Witness in the London High Court, in the London Nataraja case. In 2018 President of India has honoured him with Padama Bhushan.
In 2018, Dr nagaswamy was conferred with prestigious Padama Bhushan Award by President of India.
He has been a friend and well-wisher of our trust from the inception. We are very proud to have Dr. Nagaswamy as the President of the Vasant Utsav Dance Festival since the year 2013. He helps in conducting the festival and also in identifying the outstanding Vedic Scholars in the country.

Dr. Nagaswamy served as curator for art and archaeology in the Government Museum from 1959 to 1963. In 1963, he was appointed Assistant Special Officer for Archaeology for Tamil Nadu state and from 1966 to 1988, he headed the newly formed Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department. He was awarded the "Kalaimamani" award by the Government of Tamil Nadu for his pathbreaking work on Sekkilar's Periyapuranam. He also appeared as an Expert Witness in the London High Court, in the London Nataraja case.

Dr. Nagaswamy is the President of the Vasant Utsav Dance Festival and has helped the trust conduct the festival each year at the Kapaleeswarar Tirukoil, Mylapore.
